Im trying to get us all into the mindset that there are such things out there, I firmly believe that if we start to tune into this energy then eventually we will start to see and hear things.
What do you think?

my personal views are that science has proven that everything is made of energy, and that energy cannot be destroyed only transformed. So what happens when we die? well i think that our energy transforms. Be it into heat from tissue decomposing or even smell. but what happens to the electrical energy within our brains and body? there are thousands of nerves and the brain works due to electrical signals.
According to the Center for Space Power and Advanced Electronics, a NASA commercial center in Alabama, the human body is on average 15% fat, capable of producing 11,000 watt hours.
so when we die does this electrical energy just disperse or is there something deeper involved? perhaps our electrical energy returns to the earth to be re used in another form of life on this planet. Or perhaps our energy lingers and still has a consciousness.
the use of a k2 and emf meter makes sense, due to the fact that they pick up electrical fields and fluctuations. much like the ones found in the human body. however these machines do not react to the presence of the person using them, which would indicate that the energy it is picking up is more concentrated.
so what about going into a room after and argument? you can feel the tension in the room, even if the people in the room are long gone. this leads me to believe that energy can linger and even 'stain' an area if the incident in question is severe enough. picking up on this energy is not impossible and often people do, resulting in a 'haunting'.
so in a way i do think 'ghosts' do exist, but not in a hollywood style fashion. i think that what we call ghosts are the energy of people that have passed or incidences that have happened. i do also think that not everything that we encounter was at some point human. in my opinion it would be silly to suggest that only the energy of humans is transformed as everything is made of energy. This may be the reason for some of more peculiar hauntings we have encountered.
be good to hear other peoples views

Absolutely Stevie! I agree. The energy that our bodies can create are well documented, even down to the large static electrical charge that we can create!
All of our thoughts and movements are electrically based is it so unbelievable to think that once the vessel has stopped working, the energy carries on in some way?
Also i believe that in some cases the sentiency can remain and this is now what we call a sentient haunting.
Perhaps this will also explain why our equipment malfunctions or batteries are drained, as the spirit energy uses it as a booster so to speak.

that could well be a theory, another could be that the emf from the spirit(s) could cause a malfunction in the same way an electro magnetic pulse (EMP) will disable any electronic equipment in the blast radius.

I know I bang on about it on here but again it is my belief that this is much to do with the 'stone tape theory'. Strong emotional outburts of any kind can be and I believe are, absorbed by surrounding material and whenever anyone else who is in a state of high emotion enters that area, they unconsciously 'tune in' to that recording and it 'replays' to them.
I also think that this might explain why only some people within a group see things and others right next to them do not or cannot! Not everyone reacts the same way at the same time to the same conditions and I truly believe that a person who is more 'nervy' will pick up on atmospheres and such like more readily.
I know that we have discussed this before but I also believe that a person needs to be open to the whole possibility of paranormal phenomena to be able to experience repeated events.
Now, having said all that, we're going to be visiting some stone built ruins that have been witness to some highly emotional events so I am keeping my fingers crossed for some great results in our investigations. Bring on the TRUMPETS! LOL

Obviously my reply above only covers 'residual' energies. I believe that I have experienced 'intelligent' responses from discarnate entities, as have most of the team. I believe that the energy within us does continue to exist beyond and independently of the body. This can be the case both before and after a person passes over.
There is a large corpus of written accounts of such phenomena as out of body experiences and near death experiences where the subject has described being separated from their own body and at some point "rushing back with a jolt."
I myself had a similar experience when involved in a road accident at 11 years old and can still remember following the people who carried me into the house of a Nurse so that she could give me first aid. The odd thing is that as far as I am aware, although I was seemingly unconscious, my life was not in any immediate danger although I had suffered a bad head injury. I was able to describe specifics about this lady's home that were only available to me visually, even though I was apparently unconscious with my eyes closed throughout!
So, for me, belief in the 'separateness' of body and spirit energy is not an issue and in my opinion, if that can happen during 'life' then why shouldn't the same be true for afterwards?
Colin Wilson has written extensively on this and other subjects under the umbrella of the paranormal and is well worth checking out.
