I'll start this off then with my very first encounter with a ghost.
When I was 12 we used to spend much of our summer holidays building dens and playing war etc as boys do, we decided that we would explore an old burnt out hotel near to where we lived.
After a few days exploring the building we found various ways in which to climb up to the top floors and down to the basement so we began to play games of hide and seek and tag, it was during a game of tag that I had the genius idea of climbing up partly burnt out stairs all the way to the top floor of the building.
I managed to make my away across some timbers that was all that remained of the floor in what I think would have been a ballroom or meeting hall.
I was looking out of the window (this was a beautiful hot summers day) watching my four friends chasing each other around a bin cupboard or outdoor storage block.
Feeling particularly smug that I was obviously going to win this game hands down I continued to watch.
Without any warning at all someone tapped me sharply on the left shoulder and whispered "it's burning"! I spun around and faced an empty room!
I cannot remember if I felt a presence at all and to be honest I don't recall running out of the building! I did manage to cut my arm somehow, in all probability falling down the stairs!
When my friends finally caught up with me they told me that I had screamed and that they had all looked up and had seen a blonde haired woman looking out of the window! They thought that she was a police office and that I had run away before getting caught.
It was shortly after this that my interest in the paranormal started as I wanted to know what it was that I had felt in that hotel.
Sadly the place was torn down before we could return and there are residential buildings there now.
